Representations of Heroes and Villains in action/crime films -

For this essay I intend to examine the generic stereotypes, storylines, characteristics and any effect that Heroes and Villains have on society today. I plan to explore existing heroes and villains in action/crime films, researching into what it takes for a character to receive their title. To help me with this research I will use sources which will be taken from books, magazines, films and television, along with my own independent primary research.

    Emily, this is an intro which sets the scene nicely but there are a couple of changes you should make which I have outlined below.

    For this essay I (DO NOT USE 'I' OR 'ME' OR REFERENCES TO YOURSELF, FIND A WAY TO AVOID PERSONAL PRONOUNS, E.G. "THIS ESSAY WILL..." RATHER THAN "I WIlL...") intend (DON'T "INTEND TO DO", JUST "DO") to examine the generic stereotypes, storylines, characteristics and any effect that Heroes and Villains have on society today (I'M NOT SURE THAT THIS IS POSSIBLE, NOR AM I SURE THAT IT IS WHAT YOU SHOULD BE DOING. HAVE YOU GIVEN ANY THOUGHT TO "HOW" YOU COULD POSSIBLY MEASURE THE EFFECT THAT HEROES AND VILLAINS HAVE ON SOCIETY TODAY? I THINK YOU NEED TO BE DISCUSSING WHAT THESE DIFFERENT REPRESENTATIONS ARE AND HOW THE CONCEPT OF HEROISM AND VILLAINY DEPENDS UPON THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE VIEWER AND EXPLORE HOW SOCIETY'S CONCEPT OF HEROES AND VILLAINS IN FILM HAS CHANGED) I (SEE ABOVE) plan to explore existing heroes and villains in action/crime films, researching into what it takes for a character to receive their title. FOR THE FINAL PART OF THE ESSAY INTRO YOU NEED TO PUT IT INTO CONTEXT, MAYBE BY ASSERTING THAT A CENTRAL HERO AND VILLAIN, OR A PROTAGONIST AND AN ANTAGONIST ARE THE CENTRAL BINARY OPPOSITE AROUND WHOM THE ENTIRE NARRATIVE AND THEREFORE OUR UNDERSTANDING, REVOLVES AND THAT THIS IS BY NO MEANS UNIQUE TO FILM BUT IS THE ESTABLISHED STRUCTURE IN STORIES DATING BACK TOM FOLK TALES AND NURSERY RHYMES)
